I live in Europe so for me the cops are non issue to the point that in my opinion they are at times way too toothless, but I still do the “innocent person walk” all the same simply because I do not enjoy people who have too much power over me in any capacity.

I’ve been harassed by police for no reason at least a dozen times in my life.
My favorite was when I was 18, coming home from graduation night and I got pulled over even though I was going under the speed limit. The cop demanded to search my vehicle and I said no. Then he said he smelled weed and was going to arrest me if I didnt let him search my vehicle. I was a stupid 18 year old, so I said okay… like 15 minutes later, after finding nothing, he let me go.
I’m not sure I’ve really ever had a positive interaction with police. Even now in my professional career, I have to routinely fight with police who try to come onto a treatment facility property and run tags for patients seeking substance use disorder treatment.
Police in the US are a fucking cancer.
