Eric Moussambani Malonga after only 8 months of training represented Equatorial Guinea at the 2000 Olympics. He did all his training in a small hotel pool. Both of his competitors false started so he could set a national record. He swam a 1:52.72 which is the slowest in history but also his PB.

Am I the only one who busted out laughing when I saw his legs flailing around underwater?

    2. His competitors were from different countries right? Why did they false start and how would have helped Eric establish a national record?

Gonna sound all iamverybadass but I’m confident I could beat his Olympic record. Don’t know about beating his Olympic time, tho.

    4. Why did they need to false start for him to set a National Record? Surely his time would’ve counted regardless?
