The Hoxne Hoard, the largest hoard of late Roman silver and gold discovered in Britain, was accidentally found by a man when he set out with a metal detector to find a hammer he had lost in a farm. The British government rewarded him with £1.75 million. He found his hammer afterwards [2518×4744]

I love the detail of finding the hammer lol
What a blessing to just stumble upon a £1.75 million payday one day.
It was found about half a mile away from where I grew up, I spent so much time digging holes in my parents garden!
The best part was he found the hammer.
Good thing he found his hammer. Now he can spend his 1.75 million on some other tools.
The hammer is actually in the British Museum!!!
