The Hoxne Hoard, the largest hoard of late Roman silver and gold discovered in Britain, was accidentally found by a man when he set out with a metal detector to find a hammer he had lost in a farm. The British government rewarded him with £1.75 million. He found his hammer afterwards [2518×4744]

      It was found about half a mile away from where I grew up, I spent so much time digging holes in my parents garden!
