    1. This is actually a strategy taught in math classes. You’re normal af in all the good ways, op.

    2. This is the strategy taught in most elementary schools in the US nowadays. Its kinda cool to see mathmatical shortcuts that a lot of people made up themselves being widespread through the current curriculum.

      I read somewhere that if you think this way you might be autistic, not sure if it’s true, but I do it this way and guess what.

    4. I absolutely do that too, just not with single digit addition. However I do count it out on my fingers even when I already “know” the answer.

      I do 2+12 = 14, 13-2 = 11, and 20-10 = 10, so that means 14-11 = 3, add to 10 so it must be 13.

    8. For me, it’s the abstract feeling of 7 having a kind of “slot” for a 3 to become a whole 10. If the 6 connects to that, a 3 is still sticking out on top. Am I making sense or just weird innuendo?
