Partisans gonna be partisan, that’s all this is. Nobody “lost their minds” when Obama put in a basketball court, just a few hardcore Republican partisans tried to make it an issue.
They do whatever they think will get them more power.
I completely forgot about this. Didn’t give a shit as it was essentially a zero impact change anyway. Completely opposite to the scorched earth transformation we are seeing today. Reminds me of what happens when trailer trash wins a multimillion dollar lottery and thinks painting everything gold and gaudy looks classy.
It’s all one big false equivalency but with a really gross racial undertone.

Republicans and trump voters lost their minds. Reasonable people didn’t care about a basketball court.
He didn’t even convert the tennis court. He put up a backyard hoop that could easily be moved.
