She is absolutely timeless. Trainspotting was such a massive moment for her career.

Such a versatile actor! No country for old men, Boardwalk Empire, and Line of Duty to name a few.

Wild that she’s probably got the best resume of anybody in Trainspotting these days. Just consistently excellent career choices.

I just rewatchee No Country yesterday, and she does such a wonderful job in such a small role that could have been swallowed up by more showy actors. I love her delivery of “Big talker.”

There’s something enchanting about her. Trainspotting, No Country, Finding Neverland, Gosford Park… I’m always thrilled to see her when she turns up onscreen.

Liked her brief role as the ghost of Helena Ravenclaw aka “The Grey Lady” in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II. She plays it with an aristocratic British accent when she’s sad and ethereal but when she gets angry her Scottish accent comes out.

Giri/Haji. I dont know why this show doesn’t get more talked about. Its bilingual production by the BBC I think? She plays a detective battling personal demons and as usual carries every scene where she’s part of the frame.

My mind was blown when I found out that Carla Jean from No Country From Old Men and the Scottish girl that Ewan Mcgregor sleeps with in Trainspotting are the same woman
The image of her sitting in the taxi in Trainspotting is tattooed in my memory since my childhood.

I watched ‘Boardwalk Empire’ when I had HBO before it ran out and made it to season 6. I only watched the first episode and didn’t watch again, I let it lapse. I really enjoyed it, but for some reason after I watched that first episode I didn’t really care about finishing 🤷♂️
