I smoke (cigs and or weed) in my own yard, no neighbors around, and if there’s somebody else at my yard, I usually go away from them to smoke. Cause I know it smells bad and don’t wanna them secondhand smoking, though if they follow me to talk etc, that’s on them.
When my dog was alive, didn’t even smoke around him. Also when smoking in public, I do it almost in secret away from people 😀

Honestly, smoking in public, outside of designated smoking areas, just feels rude. Vaping i care less about, it can be just one hit and put in your pocket, even if it does produce a cloud. But smoking something, is gonna produce smoke, and a nasty ass stank until you put it out, and that goes for cigarettes or cannabis. Personally i think cigarette smell is more gross, but i know joints stink too, but thats all just my own bias.

Im vaping not smoking classic cigarettes but i always try to smoke that way i wont exhale the smoke to other people who could not want it. I think its basic rule of smoking and not being dick

As a smoker I try to be considerate and not smoke around others. Its a little difficult when im out back and my neices/nephew are over and want hugs/to be around me when im smoking a cigarette. I always have to remind them I dont want them around me when im smoking.

Yeah smokers are pretty gross. My parents both chained smoked when I was a kid and hey presto ive got a pretty high chance of cancer from second hand smoke. If you smoke around your kids at that point just tell them you dont really care about them
