My grandfather was a Swedish volunteer for the Finnish army during the Soviet invasion. According to my father, during his time on the front he stood too close to the artillery and got the breach cylinder in his leg. Feel free to ask any questions and I’ll answer the best I can.

My full and deep respect to your grandfather. Just last night I had a dream about my Finnish grandfather, who was seriously wounded and declared dead twice during the Winter and Continuation Wars. Took the Grim Reaper all 92 years to finally catch him. Do you know anything about your grandfather’s motivation to volunteer? Do you know where he served during Winter War?
