Offering a pedophile a jail sentence like that for any reason at all should be considered gross misconduct for an officer of the AG or DA’s offices. It’s not doing your job on the highest order.
If I worked at a car dealership, somebody came in, and I said “just take one, nobody cares,” I’d be fired and prosecuted. In regards to job performance, I don’t see this as any different.
