It’s in a way far worse that it was written.
If it was just spoken, it could be somewhat understood through the lens of his reflexive stupidity and narcissism blurting out garbage without thinking.
But he wrote it. (Or said it to someone who wrote it) Which means he thought about, read it, thought about it again, then said “Yeah, that sounds about right. That’s the tone I’m going for.”
