I was so confused when I scrolled past initially because I thought that WAS a spiderweb. The eggs freaked the fuck outta me before I realized it wasn’t 🤣

Keep em outside before putting in boiled water. This way they crack less often

That’s the protective layer produced by the hen when expeling the egg. I’m pretty sure that’s edible, not so tasty, but edible.

Can someone explains to me how this actually happens?

I’ve got a small backyard flock and boil fresh eggs all the time. Looks like egg whites to me. There appear to be some small chunks stuck to a couple of the eggshells.
Edit: If there’s bloom still on the eggs it’s highly likely there’s a little bit of fecal matter present as well. Wash fresh eggs before you prepare them and always crack them into a separate container. Sometimes you wind up with a funky egg. Not rotten necessarily, but sometimes you’ll get a blood clot. Especially from an older hen.
