Atta was an interesting figure because (relative to his co-conspirators) it seems like he wasn’t really that much of a religious extremist. I mean, he was, but he was more of a suicidal incel
If you read more about him it becomes clear (imo) that his primary goal was to just kill himself and take a bunch of people with him, with the whole anti-American jihadi thing influencing his method of doing so
