Mammals have three primary features: 1. Produce milk for their offspring, 2. Have fur/hair, 3. Don’t lay eggs (except for the platypus and echidnas)

Fun fact: in The Netherlands, the fur industry was demolished by Kinderen voor Kinderen, a nonprofit children’s choir, singing “tweedehands jas”. They sang somethig like “there goes another second-hand coat, that didn’t belong to a person before but to an animal”. Believe me, in Dutch it is a catchy rhyme. It decimated the fur industry by shaming people wearing fur coats. Wildly effective and a great song because of that.
