      $700 is the cheep tickets for an event like that. Politicians are allowed to have some fun, in fact I want them to as I don’t want burnt out people making decisions that affect people’s lives.

      What I don’t want is politicians seen constantly inebriated, constantly at high profile celebrity parties, staying at extremely luxurious resorts, or constantly travelling for recreation.

      Let this man enjoy a game.

      I’ve always wanted to attend an away game for my cities baseball or football team. I randomly looked up Yankees tickets for that reason, and oh my god the price of their nosebleed section is shameful. I’m sure the Knicks are about the same.

      Also, I’m sure being the mayor, he got in for free anyway, so it says a lot that he chose to sit where a free ticket would be the least egregious. And if you say “he’s just keeping up appearances”, I’d counter at least he bothers to do that, unlike a lot of other politicians who lie to your face and ask you to never trust your own eyes.

      I’ve seen this guy’s salary. We’ve gotten so used to politicians grifting that we’ve normalized them spending 5 or six figures on sporting events. Good on him for sitting where I’d sit if I could afford to even be on the parking lot

      This is actually sort of dumb because the cheapest tickets for Knicks vs Cavs Game 1 on Gametime were around $580 so these tickets would be a little more expensive than the worst in the arena

      The news is run by the elite class, and they will do just about anything to discredit those pursuing real change.
