What would’ve been different if the Arabs had refused to help the Entente? The British and French pretty much took everything they wanted anyway, it’s difficult to think of a more carthaginian settlement

    2. I mean to be fair, the arab revolts didn’t do all that much militarily. It was more of a political succes. But the end result wouldn’t have changed either way.

Yes but we wouldn’t have one of greatest movies of all time, Lawrence of Arabia, without it. So overall, net positive.

to be fair if the arabs didn’t betray the ottomans, they wouldn’t have even gotten the kingdoms of Iraq and Transjordan. They’d have just become full fledged colonies.

considering the ottomans were neither arab nor proper muslims it’s fair

How dare people be angry with their oppressors who were heading on a path of discrimination towards all non-Turks? /s

As a turk ım happy, they showed their true intentions about ottomans and now we got better ideas who to trust and not to trust, even the descendant of prophet muhammed joined the rebellion against us

More like Arabic speakers getting stabbed by both Ottoman and British empire

    10. Ottoman betraying minorities by massacring armenians that is why, fearing for them being next, arabs decided to part ways.

its not even betrayal, its a revolt. The word betray is used to turn against your own kind

More Arabs fought FOR the Ottoman Empire than against. The Husseins were just one tribe among thousands.

There’s plenty of works that also call into question how effective the Arab Revolt was in beating the Ottomans. The Entente would still likely have beat the Ottomans without their support. Both the Palestine and Mesopotamian Campaigns had marginal Arab participation overall.

Now Indian troops on the other hand… they were the unsung victors of that theatre, especially in Mesopotamia.
