Being able to listen to music anywhere is a superpower I’ll never give up

Shitty compression is a price I’m willing to pay not for convenience because wire has always been convenient to me, but because nowadays wired earphones last like 2 months before they start breaking, whether it’s the jack or the wire itself.
My current Bluetooth headphones outlived all of my previous pairs by now. I hate it but that’s the truth. For quality I still have my setup at home after all.

Still using a pair of headphones with a wire that are almost twenty years old with a usb-c to 3.5mm dongle. My wife has gone through three pairs of Airpods because the batteries fail. I’ll stick with the wire.
Edit: Airpods was used as a generic term like Kleenex, my bad. Shes moved on to JBLs and others since.

For me it was when they removed the 3.5mm port from the phones. Now the phone only outputs digital audio, there is not a lot to gain but purchasing a digital to analogue converter, just stay digital and use wireless

I still prefer having the option of using wired earbuds. Plus I don’t like risking dropping it down the sink when washing my hands or something

It’s not convenient for me especially when your buds that used to last 6+ hours start dying after 3-4 due to age.
Plus with corded all you have to do is just put it under your shirt

if something has a non replaceable battery it’s effectively disposable, consume more

I use my wireless earbuds like once a month I’m gonna be honest. I don’t really need to be listening to stuff when I’m not at home usually.

I like sticking with wires since i dont have to worry about the battery of yet another device

Id prefer to use my wired Sony ear buds, they have great drivers and sound awesome. My phone has a wiggly USB-C port and no 3.5mm audio jack. So I am forced by mechanical obsolescence to use garbo Bluetooth buds with aggravating charging needs and best of all, they are easy to lose!

I used to not trust bluetooth devices, especialy in gaming where it potentialy could disconnect my mouse for even a second. The worst thing about it was my wired headset, that I had to take off during calls every time I was getting off the desk.
Suddenly I have wireless headset with a wireless mic and I can go to the kitchen or bathroom, multiple closed doors behind me, yet I’m on discord call and noone hears the difference.
Truly a life changer I couldn’t imagine before that.

Okay, so same. But then I got them, but after a while, I’ve kinda reverted back to ol reliable ear buds. Idk, I fucking actually hate having to make sure yet another thing is charged and then dropping them/losing them/connectivity issues etc etc. Just plug those suckers in, no thoughts, no hey is this charged, just fuckin works. the old days they’d stop working, but newer ones seem to last and last.

Yep. Right up until you lose one, the batteries start to go, or you try to weer them during lunch while chewing, mowing the lawn while sweating, running while jostling around, or during a time you cant use your hands like doing dishes, and even worse when one drops into the dirty water or someplace worse. 😇

Still mad I had to switch to wireless because some dipshit decided newer phones shouldn’t have headphone jacks at the same time my last phone planned obsolescence’d

Sure, I love the convenience of…
– Bluetooth that won’t connect for some reason
– my headset dying 15 minutes after I get to the gym because I forgot to charge them
– losing one of my earbuds monthly

Still haven’t bought wireless ear buds, won’t ever because earbuds are nasty.
Don’t know what you’re on about.
