    1. Back in 1989 Donald Trump took out full-page ads in the local newspapers calling for the death penalty for these guys. This was while the trial was going on. Then, even after they were exonerated he still thinks they are guilty and refuses to apologize.

      He’s a racist prick.

    2. The fuck? So just picked 5 black kids & sentenced them to jail???

Just like that?? And nobody said anything back then???

    3. The actual rapist, Matias Reyes, went on to commit multiple more rapes, including raping and murdering a woman while her three young children were locked in the next room.

Even after he was arrested, these kids stayed in jail until he confessed because the police were so ‘certain’ of their guilt that they didn’t bother re-testing any of the evidence.

    4. Watch ‘When they see Us’ on Netflix if you haven’t. It’s a miniseries on this story. Some amazing performances. Your blood will boil.

So many people made money off of these guys being locked up, including a prosecutor who, wrote a book and refuse to apologize

    6. What’s with the double letters here. I thought there was something wrong with my vision

Interesting, I know Donald Trump just happened to live in New York around about that time – I wonder if he was involved in this in anyway?

So they were part of a group attacking/mugging people? Did they get charged with those crimes?

    9. One wonders if the misoelling to persuade readers this is an organically made post.

For many police, clearing the case is more important than solving the case. Exhibit A:

The criminals who investigated and led the case knowing it was based on nonsense
Linda Fairstein – Michael Sheehan – Robert Moran – Elisabeth Lederer – Robert Morgenthau – D-d Trunnp
