      Just to clarify, my Uncle and family are Italian. Born and raised in Italy. She was American. They spent a lot of time in his home of Italy but he became a US citizen and lived there full time eventually

      They each were getting what they wanted out of it. She got the arm candy and he got the sugar mama

      When I was I kid, my dad had a coworker who married a much older rich lady. May dad and this guy were both working in a union job so very blue collar and guys would razz this coworker about his “old lady”. He would always respond with how he would end up with all her money. Well one day he went on a trip and a few days later when he returned he was killed in a car accident at a train crossing… with his mistress.

      My dad would tell that story and laugh every time.

      Could be either way, I also liked older women at that age. Now I am old and the older women I liked are now my age.

      When I was in my 20s, I used to attract the attention of older women. The money side of it never entered my mind when interacting with them. Op’s uncle doesn’t look if he is faking his happiness. My wife had an uncle who was in a similar type of relationship & it seemed if their marriage was a happy one.
