Water, fruits juices, and seltzers. Spindrifts are the way if you still want to carbonation.

Soda, like the mixer? That’s crazy to me… when was the last time you drank straight mixer?

I’m just cheap as hell. If I’m eating out, I’m not paying extra for soda/juice(or possibly more extra for refills). I’m getting that free ice cold water baby. Also not paying for no 12 pack of soda, cause I drink a lot as it is. So if im moving through water the way I am, that 12 pack ain’t gonna last a week. Then I’ll have to keep buying more and more 12 packs, it adds up.

The one exception is if I’m getting a Combo or paying for a meal at like a fast food place, since I’m paying for a drink, and water ain’t gonna change the price, then I’ll get something flavorful(typically juice)

As for caffeine I get those flavor additive you squeeze into your water. As a recreational responsible drug user, I understand the concept of diminishing returns. If I still want this caffeine to have any effect, I must moderate my intake. I try to never consume caffeine past 1pm(caffeine stays in your system for 12 hours and can disrupt your sleep quality). And only take the one dose in the morning when I get to work.

But what really helped me not develop an addiction to sodas was having a diabetic father(and diabetic grandfathers and uncles) paying for sugar free everything, confiscating my Halloween candies, and limiting my soda consumption as a kid. Because of that I never really developed a strong sweet tooth or craving.

I switched to flavored seltzer water. I hate producing so much aluminum can waste so now I’m trying to wean myself off of seltzer water to….water.

    8. Water, coffee, and tea. I have a diet soda on rare occasions. After a while you just lose the craving for soda.

Sugar is actually so addicting. I stopped drinking soda for a year and it was hell. I finally reached a place where I thought I can drink in moderation and thought I might hate the taste after so much time but once I took that sip, I was addicted again. Have to consciously not drink soda ever. I dilute fruit juices when I want a nice treat.

Spindrifts specifically have helped me cut out soda completely. Turns out I wanted flavored bubbles, didn’t need the sugar or caffeine. The spindrifts at least taste like something instead of the essence of something like most seltzers.

Sparkling water is the best. Also regular water, coffee and sometimes tea.

    12. The only thing I drink that isn’t water is orange juice (sometimes apple juice). I will never cut out Orange Juice, it’s life! 😩

Edit: Oh and the occasional Playa Bowl smoothie. And I just discovered that my supermarket makes blended drinks with like the raw ingredients. Like greens and beets and stuff like that. I think I need to dip my toe in that. 🤔

I’ve cut it out for the most part. Mostly water, tea, coffee. My job has this cucumber lime water thing that hits hard especially when it was 95+ earlier this week:

    14. I’m with Mandy, water and alcohol it is. I didn’t cut out tea intentionally, but it’s been several years since I had some.

    15. I get lime juice. It’s so good. Still has tons of sugar. But Every time I drink from it, I replace the juice with water.

Even super watered down lime juice is still delicious
