My knowledge of the ottomans would be so much smaller without kings and generals
Peter the Great’s biography by Robert Massie is one of my favorite books. Highly recommend it because it covers regional history and contemporary developments in Sweden, Poland, and the Ottoman Empire all in one volume. it’s great.
