One of the reason Amazon Prime doesn’t deliver as quickly as it used to is because they are running out of people desperate enough to work for them and towns willing to place their warehouses.
Strayed8492 on
Didn’t Amazon intentionally hire a ton of part time workers so there wouldn’t be a majority in the vote for a union? Just to fire them afterward?
It’s hard to take any of it seriously when it looks like a scene from South Park

The Associates are so important to them that they named them last, especially after the other two that are the ones that bring them money

As a proud union member and union steward. Fuck Amazon. Fuck bezos. And fuck corporate brainwashing. That is all. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

I want to point out something that usually receives a lot of negativity but needs to be said.
People focus on the billionaires that union-bust and say it’s the billionaires that keep the low income workers down. I agree, but it’s the middle class that does the billionaire’s bidding to keep the lower class down. The middle class are the ones actually doing the union busting for their “masters”.
Who are the actual people doing the actual union busting at these Amazon facilities? It’s the managers and management. It’s the middle class doing it for a paycheck.
Reason why I point this out is because a lot of the lower income class thinks the middle class are on their side. They aren’t. Neither are the billionaires obviously, but the lower income class needs to stop with this idea that the middle income folks are looking out for them.
It’s annoying when the middle class goes through a “crisis” like AI taking their tech jobs, layoffs, etc… and wants the lower class to stand in solidarity with them, but sees no issue making the lower class go through crisis after crisis.
edit: and it ain’t popular to say because a lot of you are middle class, but we lower income people are starting to see it for what it is.

Over my 40+ years in manufacturing in the Rust Belt, I was on both sides of the union fence.
Unions did not stop the thousands of jobs in my area from bugging out during the 80’s, but I dont blame them for it.
My first 3 factory jobs were all union, over 11 years, my last one was non-union, in the chemical/coatings industry for 34 years.
We were paid union like wages and benefits as a counter to our 3 other unionized sister plants.
When they all closed, a lot of our benefits and perks started to go away.
We tried 3 times to unionize, each time with a different union and the tricks the company played were shitty.
But being in a rural area with a lot of farming families employed it was kind of a lost cause,
cause, farmers.
I saw worthless people retain jobs with a union, and good people fired without one.
I’m glad Im retired.

I remember reading that they built a brand new facility post covid. One of the biggest in the company.
A year after opening it. They got a whiff of a union…. and they shut down the terminal.

The people need to organize to protect workers rights. These companies don’t care about you at all. I’m sure everyone’s read how an employee died in an amazon warehouse and all employees were instructed to work around the deceased worker.

Amazon are too cheap to spring for some decent looking animation for their union busting propaganda, boring dystopia indeed.

I remember getting hired at target back in 09, they had a union video that made me feel…. Uncomfortable. Few months later I was talking with a group in the back and made a joke about it, I immediately noticed their eyes, they all stopped looked around and quietly told me that the last person to talk about unions was fired mid shift and banned from the store.

That’s so fucking dark. Unions gave rise to the American middle class and protect workers and families and healthcare.
The fact billionaires are actively brainwashing people about unions is so depressing
Absolutely disgusting
Video was like, “we’re not anti-union but we are anti-union”
Living wage as a cautionary word to look out for. Thats all you need to know about corporate America.
