      The 61 years is the really embarassing part of this. That is every year showing up to the largest Israeli-support march regardless of illegal settlements, Gaza shutdown, invasion of Lebanon, invasion of Lebanon, apartheid, construction of illegal wall, collective policy of home destruction, And this is just the stuff before 2020. It is not a Jewish-American celebration, it is not a celebration of Israeli immigrants, it is a celebration of a foreign government with a very problematic human rights record. And no mayor has been willing to do anything else on that day in 61 years? Embarassing for all of them.

      I am Israeli and I never heard of Israel day. I’ve heard of Israeli Independence Day and Jerusalem Day but those were weeks ago.

      Apparently it’s commemorating a random time David Ben Gurion visited NYC.

      I was born and raised in NYC. I lived there for decades (though I don’t anymore). I have never heard of the Israel Day Parade. Is this a well known event?

      Lol can you imagine the meltdown that would happen if we had parades for other countries? Mexico day parade or Somalia day parade would be met with immense violence from the inbred wannabe paramilitary department aka ice.

      Yeah… maybe Jewish people in NYC should start a new parade less focused on Israel. This is currently the largest Jewish parade in NYC.

      I feel uncomfortable with the idea of another country getting a parade anyway. I would be totally okay with parade that celebrated Jewish-Americans but I don’t get why Israel straight up has a parade.
