I love driftwood, says the dog. I can’t pick it up though.
These can actually be dangerous when waves roll them around. People have been crushed by logs like this on PNW beaches.

Every time I ever went more than 25 miles offshore we’d be hitting stuff in the water, dodging things, etc. Floating trash dump out there.

The way it’s sitting with all its remaining branches on one side underneath makes it look like gargantuan arthropod that’s crawled up the beach on its many legs
The dog is overwhelmed by the size of this stick
Given the state of coastal erosion, that was probably from someone’s back yard.
