There was an excavator at my local zoo, you had to chuck in some chump change like 20 cents for a couple minutes, ngl I probably sunk 100 bucks into that thing, no regrets whatsoever.

There were two of these diggers at a park down the road. About a year ago they tore it all out and replaced it with turf and I still cry a little inside when I see it.

How in the holy hell am I only just seeing this, and why was no part of childhood (or adulthood for that matter) spent playing with one.

What about the pedal train thing on rails? That was the true highlight of the playground toys back in the day.

Kids will always dig. Our elementary school playground had a gravel pit and we’d get sticks and just try to dig a hole, said we’d dig through to the other side if the earth. This was something a tind of kids in different classes did, like multiple groups of kids would all work on the same hole at different recess times.

It is not the kids fault for how they are raised and people need to start realizing that.

That unlocks so many memories of when I was a little kid. I always pretended I was a construction worker driving a backhoe.
