I’ve always loved this photo of my (American) dad Edwin and his (English) coworker Arthur from the early 70s. No computer, a typewriter under plastic, Pop’s Purdue Class of 56 ring on his right hand, and all those old fashioned engineering drawings. He wore a suit every day but Saturday.

Very cool! I love those images of huge rooms full of drafting tables with hundreds of architects and/or engineers at work.
Shout out to Purdue and Engineering.
Midwest practicality. 💪
No doubt there’s tea in Arthur’s mug!
As a Purdue alumna, thank you for posting this!!!
Your dad looks like a fun guy. Do you know what they were working on?
Engineering schematics were done by hand then, but they required a special drafting table. They could be reviewing a schematic in this pic, though, for errors.
Two engineers, figuring things out.
