I recently threw out my Mom’s version of this pan. It was heavy and a pain in the ass to wash, but she made a lot of good meals from it.

That’s around $246 in 2025 cash. Definitely a luxury item! For reference, my dad made $60 a week in 1955 with 2 kids, a wife who didn’t work and a mortgage.
“Digestible fried foods!” Interesting marketing plan there.
Immersible right up to the handle end. Now that’s something you don’t see anymore
And they charge you an extra three bucks for the lid!
