Ohh, I’m going to use this at my next job interview!

What’s your worst trait? “I have too much empathy”.

    2. Too much empathy and not enough absolutely resistance outrage.

That’s the strangest thing about revolutions, they aren’t the revolutionaries that get it done, it’s the people that saw what needs to be done, and did it no matter what the [powers that be had in mind.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wM8bW4H9Rrc)

The problem isn’t the empathy – it’s that it’s performative and insincere. Empty gestures cause distrust and undermine support and faith in the system. MAGA fuckery tells you they’re going to do horrible and despicable things – then they follow through and actually do it. Centrists promise nothing, fundraise on vague promises of resistance and deliver exactly what no one asked for in its most watered down form. Liberals promise everything and do none of it, then complain that everyone is mean to them.

If they had a little more empathy for Palestinians, we might not be in this position today. But you won’t see that in their autopsy, which is part of the problem.

if they spent half as much time on actual policy as they do on “land acknowledgments,” we might be in a better spot like, can we get to the good stuff already?

    6. Democrats often confuse empathy with astroturfing. The people and problems that are presented as empathy don’t come with first hand experience or knowledge. It’s projection for someone or something they may or may not actually exist.

Honestly, the worst thing you can say about the Democrats is that they’re in the pockets of corporations too. Except instead of making things worse like the GOP, they maintain the status quo that the last GOP admin established, until the next time the GOP is in power.

The Dems (and liberals in general) care more about feeling good than doing good.

    8. if empathy is the worst thing they have going for them, sign me up better than a clown show with a side of chaos! 😂

The Democrats lost because their policy positions were slightly right of a RINO.

The problem with land acknowledgement is that it gives the strong appearance of faux virtue signaling rather than actual empathy. It is very performative in nature and does little to nothing to address injustice or inequality.

      It’s thoughts and prayers

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen someone be as wrong as you, OP. There’s a *lot* worse one can say about the dems, on god.

I’m a liberal older white guy.

The amount of performative liberal progressivism over the last few years makes me feel less welcome and less a part of my own political movement.

I can totally understand how liberal rhetoric has pushed young men away.
