Wherever they took out this cross section from, they left a hole there. Probably in the middle of motorway.
Are the lower layers condensed and compressed? It seems like they must be, given how short humans have been around geologically speaking.

Looks wrong. There should be a pothole that goes at least as deep as the Roman road section.
I think it’s great planning that the squid new what would be a perfect route for all eternity.
