Because Trump told them to. Republicans are nothing more than a party of spinless evil sycophants who have violated their oath to the Constitution in every single possible way.

And now, whenever an opportunity arises, the same kind of assholes as the Jan. 6 rioters will repeat what happened there, only more forcefully and violently, hoping for a payoff.
