I mean, this is straight facts for a ton of POC. Lie about your address to get your kid into a better public school? Six figure fines and potentially years in prison. Sell sugar to an undercover cop? Years in prison. Legally possess a firearm with a concealed carry license and politely inform the officer during a traffic stop? Exonerated immediate execution. Wear a hoodie in the wrong neighborhood that has a vigilante neighborhood watch? Same outcome.
Commit fraud to get your kid into a good college while white? Slap on the wrist. Sling millions of dollars in blow for your brother-in-law? Become Secretary of State. Gun down civilians in a neighboring town with a rifle? Raise millions of dollars and become a celebrity with the right wing. Openly instigate conflict while spouting lies about replacement theory? Same outcome.
This is structural. This is institutionalized. This is a justice system based on tiers of service dependent on race, class, gender, sexuality, and sometimes religion instead of fairness, justice, or equity. We need to do so much better across the board, and it seems like right now we are going the opposite direction.
