Ethos_Logos on May 20, 2026 5:26 pm Aren’t there a ton of heavy metals in Utah’s great salt lake? Would they be removed by whatever process Morton uses?
Duck_Size on May 20, 2026 5:37 pm Folks thought it was the sea when they arrived so they figured you wouldn’t know the difference either
Avidly_A_Dude on May 20, 2026 5:38 pm Isn’t the great salt lake technically a sea? Isn’t a sea any large body of salt water?
monstrinhotron on May 20, 2026 5:39 pm Three is the number of the refilling and the number of the refilling shall be three, Four thou shall not refill, nor either shall thou refill two, accepting that thou shall proceedeth to three. Five is right out..
Sall_Goode on May 20, 2026 5:42 pm What you’re calling “Lake Salt” is really “salt lake salt” both with superfluous quotation marks.
grumble11 on May 20, 2026 5:47 pm You know what is silly? A salt grinder. Guys salt is not a spice with volatile aromatic compounds that benefits from being ground up at the last second. Salt is a ROCK. So buy it pre-ground at whatever consistency you want. Fine ground or coarse, flaky or rounder. No point having a grinder, use a shaker.
c_r_a_s_i_a_n on May 20, 2026 5:50 pm I can’t believe these are legal. The grinding surface is plastic. Don’t buy these.
Scoobysnax1976 on May 20, 2026 5:52 pm Is the “Non-GMO” label necessary? Salt doesn’t have any genetics to modify.
someoldguyon_reddit on May 20, 2026 5:58 pm The Great Salt Lake has been a toxic waste dump for decades. Ew.
No-Acanthisitta8803 on May 20, 2026 6:03 pm No, it’s sea salt because it’s where there was a sea there millions of years ago. It’s Mormon sea salt 🤪
WritPositWrit on May 20, 2026 6:07 pm Id like to know more about the limit on refills. Are they knowingly using blades made from a metal that will corrode over time?
patpat829 on May 20, 2026 6:08 pm The literally definition of sea salt* includes drys salt lake beds…
nivenfan on May 20, 2026 6:10 pm So… are the heavy metals in the drying Utah lake included for free? I wasn’t sure if that would affect shipping prices.

Morton also has a salt mine under Lake Erie
More concerned that it’s designed to fail after two refills.

Not Sea Salt. “See? Salt.”
Utah was under sea a couple hundred million years ago.
It’s Mormon salt. All of my wives use it.

You should see how nasty the factory is too.
