My local jurisdiction turned them into community resource vehicles for a time, I still see one or two around the volunteers manning the wheel.

I miss when almost all cops had Crown Vics. It was so much easier to spot them. Almost nobody else drove them except a few elderly people, and they mostly drove the Grand Marquis instead.
Now they have generic Chargers and Explorers, etc. Same cars countless other folks have.

Gotta be Ohio. As far as I’m aware, we’re only state where every sheriffs department is the same color throughout the whole state

I once had a rental car Crown Vic, it sucked driving that on the highway as everybody slowed down around me

One city over from me still had a Caprice in service. Last year they made that specific body style was 1996.

As a European, I’ve always just referred to these as “American cop cars from the movies”

It’s gotta be on its 5th transmission from sheer miles alone.

Back in my day, I could spot those headlights in my rear view from a mile away

LAPD still has a few. Must be for new officers or when you’re late to the motor pool

I was wildland firefighter until a year ago- the forest service made us take a tactical driving course and the whole time I had to drive a Crown Vic. They said they handled most similarly to type 6 fire engines

These are still all over the place, the LA County Sheriff’s Department has hundreds of them.

When I was 19 I bought a retired crown Vic at a sheriffs auction and I loved that thing. Had crazy miles on it but that is still one of my favorite cars because of it. Felt like I was driving in a cloud haha.
