“We at Energizer decided to make this new battery proprietary because fuck your kid if they swallow one of our competitors’ battery…”

Anyone else notice get into science based stuffs, until well after high school?

I know there might be an answer somewhere other than “That’s what we always did”.

Why not make the battery just a bit larger than a 3-year-old’s esophagus so it just doesn’t fit with a baby’s esophagus?

This video could have been shortened considerably by getting a toddler to swallow one.

I also noticed that most of them have a terrible smell and i assume terrible taste, that should also help preventing kids from eating those.

Weird thing is, I’m pretty sure I’ve just seen this in the news. This is apparently bigger news than we realise.

Listen, how are we supposed to figure out who the idiot kids are if we keep doing shit like this?!?

That is awesome, I’ve no doubt lives will be saved and the most terrible sadness averted. Thank you, you awesome engineers who keep looking out for us all.

    9. Interesting. Titanium is a poor conductor of electricity. Stainless steel is also relatively poor, but slightly better than titanium. Both metals vary in that regard, depending on their alloys composition. But I wonder if this new alloy choice will negatively affect the efficiency of the battery?

    10. Really cool vid and really cool that someone from energizer spoke with him about it

This happens regularly, unfortunately. Sometimes with disastrous consequences. If you suspect this has happened have them drink honey and go straight to the ER.

      This shit sounds great.

    12. In the height of my post partum anxiety years, when I had a baby and a toddler at home, I would freak out if someone even brought their car keys inside the house. Any toy or item we were gifted with a button battery was thrown in the trash on unwrapping. The idea that one of the kids had accidentally swallowed one was my no 1 intrusive thought nightmare. It was a significant topic of my therapy sessions.

    13. Cool. Would be a lot cooler if they actually allowed other companies to use the same tech though.

ust put one of these in my airtag. Licked it just to make sure it tasted as gross as claimed.

This is the same channel from which veritasium stole the polymorph content from. Glad to see him continuing to make lick ass videos

My sister once lost a quarter in her arm cast for a month. She probably ate some batteries too.
