Eagerly awaiting the 30th anniversary to celebrate with chainsaws and skinning asses raw.

I remember an episode of MTV’s Loveline where Fred Durst guest starred and he was surprisingly well-spoken and gave good life and relationship advice.

sometimes I think “man it doesn’t feel like the 90s were that long ago” and then I see this that looks like it’s from another dimension

I just got 860 downvotes for loving ABBA. What the fuck is this going to get??

    5. I had not seen this music video before, but now I know what Bowling for Soup was parodying in “Girl all the bad guys want.”

    6. I really liked “N 2 Gether Now” because Meth lent a real Hip Hop respect to it; that song still hits like it did but the rest of the album did not age well.

    7. I remember my dad bursting in my door and telling me to turn this shit down. Hahahha rip dad.

    8. Jonathan Davis is dressed like such a fucking dork in this video. So is fred, but Jonathan moreso

Weirdly my redneck dad was really into Limp Bizkit. We used to blast the hotdog flavored water album on our way to ride horses lol

    10. Such a great video posted that they combined all the instruments into 1 incomprehensible slush to the ears.

This is why I feel like the 90s is too recent for this sub. of course it’s gotta update eventually, but can’t we wait until I’m not as emotionally vulnerable about it lol.

    12. Around these times, depending on your friend group, you were supposed to hate on this shit. “OH fuck Fred Durst and fuck his stupid hat and fuck this “rap” metal shit.” I was a closet fan, its fucking catchy and makes you wanna headbang.

Far as I know, Fred Durst doesnt have any real reason to hate on him. He seemed like a douchebag and maybe he acted like one but dude basically created a new genre of music. Still isn’t my everyday listen but dammit its classic music now. And it was important to metal music.

“I feel really bad that we inspired such bullshit”. -Tim Commorford

    14. Corny, cringe, trailer trash, all that. But, there was the briefest moment when this came out that this song was the shiiiit.

    15. As a 97 baby, one of the best early memories I have of kindergarten is hoppin out the minivan with my carpool family I’d ride with blasting Limp Bizkit, Rage Against the Machine, Greenday, ac/dc, and weezer as we hopped out and ran into school feeling like badasses lol.

Edit: and the minivan was super cool with the sliding doors so we felt like a swat team or super hero’s flying out the ship towards a battle.
