      smooth brained take

      my marriage isn’t a trap it’s a partnership

it’s two people who love each other teaming up to face the world and getting a lot further together then we would separate

Marriage is legalized slavery? Uh, we both agreed to it and both like it. Folks just be talking to talk.

The way a lot of people treat marriage… Mostly conservatives in my experience.

In a good marriage, you both have to build boats. Plural.

Typically in one of these failed marriages, the man forces the woman to work on his boat… And in the event the marriage fails, she gets thrown overboard.

Me and my wife have built up a fantastic life over 20 years but if something catastrophic were to happen to one of us, either health or relationship wise… The other could survive.

Ultimately, I think Leslie Jones is correct, but mostly because people get married without understanding what a marriage should mean.

      1. She is hard to look at
      2. Marriage is only slavery if you are married to someone you don’t actually like.

If I had this message when I was younger, I wouldn’t have married the first time. When I think of those wasted years…ugh.

    6. If you guys aren’t aware- this interviewer is notorious at trapping people into questions and at this point when people respond- it’s just to give her more ammo to make the situation worse, which is actually funny.

I’m sure they understand marriage and slavery are different things.

I don’t know why people are so upset by her take when for decades we know women were forced by society into marriages and the institution ain’t evolved much since. I say that as a person that wants to be married but for lots of women marriage isn’t mutually advantageous.

    8. So many harsh comments on her appearance and opinion of marriage. Everyone has a different experience/opinion of marriage. We know there are millions of successful marriages. We know there are also millions of failures of various reasons. We also know that some of the successes aren’t always ideal for a lot of women and the current dating pool leaves a lot to be desired. Either way, speaking negatively on how she looks, is highly unnecessary.

Here come the married ladies pretending statistics and eyeballs don’t exist.
Your marriage is the exception, ma’am, don’t worry! Woo woo woo! 😂

“I didn’t raise you to be no ones wife” can be taken very differently depending on how you view marriage. If the parent’s marriage wasn’t healthy then it’s easy to see how this sentiment was passed on. At the same time it could just mean her dad didn’t raise her to be an accessory to someone else, but rather her own person.

Real talk tho. Who here has been to a wedding where you *know* it’s for all the wrong reasons and you n everyone just have to sit there and pretend like it’ll all work out? Just practicing your shocked Pikachu face in the meantime.

I agree, getting married is for suckers, …. Lonely 40 yr old man living in my mom’s basement..here 😭

    13. I don’t disagree with her at all. However, I also have difficulty taking product recommendations from somebody who’s never tried the product.
