Both empires secured their legitimacy by exploiting the opposing religious great powers they had conquered (Al-Andalus & Byzantion)

Borat voice: This is Ottoman Empire, he is pain in my assholes. I get a massive imperial bureaucracy, he must get a massive imperial bureaucracy; I start a big expansive naval arms race, he must get an expansive naval arms race. I establish a global Atlantic silver trade network and trans-pacific route to China, he could not afford. Great Success! 😀👍

    4. I mean catalan language is officially recognsied and thought in schools and the people frequently protest and are allowed to do so. The same can not be said about the kurds. So the correlation is not really there.

It misses the part that both share a schizo neibourgh country that claims parts of the country with some radical people claiming the whole country as legitimate and historic soil.

It’s just satire, far removed from reality. Spain shares religion, language, and Greco-Roman culture with Latin America, something that can’t be said of Turkey or the Baltic countries. Even though it pains the Turks and they say otherwise, that’s the reality. There are even Spanish families living in Latin America, just as there are Latin American families living in Spain.

    7. Ottoman Empire came from Asia with Asian features, suddenly they are blond with blue eyes. How did that turn out for them?
