Look, Iāll say something, and please donāt cook me for it. First of all, yeah, Hollywood sucks and a lot of their antics are despicable. I fully agree with that.
But second, when a YouTuber launches a movie, I wouldnāt be surprised if it performs well initially because it already has built-in fanbase support and the overall YouTube ecosystem backing it. So naturally, itās going to pull good numbers.
What Iām actually interested in, though, is how it performs after a broader global launch with audiences that donāt know who Markiplier or the creator is, and who arenāt part of that online space at all. I want to see what general audiences think about the movie outside of the fandom context.
Thatās not meant to take away from their effort, success, or what they accomplished, because they absolutely achieved something. Iām just interested in seeing how it holds up beyond that built-in audience.
