    2. I assume there’s a need to keep both the top and bottom of the text aligned for some reason, maybe to minimize the space requirements for signs that need more text on them.

    3. There’s a sign in East Ohio for Sharon Pa. For the longest time I thought it was for a town called Sharon Pa in Ohio. It’s for Sharon PA. They just capitalize shit randomly out there.

    4. those are stick on letters and the Y is aligned to the bottom when it should have been aligned to the top.
      (a lowercase y is supposed to hang below the line) not even with the line)

      Found it on Google maps in Amherst. The other side of the sign is correct.

    6. Someone using Adobe Illustrator outlined (expanded) the font then used the align tool to bottom margin justification.

      My wife could never stand the corners of the sign being square but the white piping being round. Other states seem to trim their signs.

    12. We have two exit signs on the freeway that are in km, every single other sign is in miles. It’s been like that for decades.

      It just easier to line up all the letter forms along the bottom edge, maybe.
