Be the change you want to see in the world: post historical memes with bojack clips to compete.

    3. He’s singlehandedly trying to crank RWBY’s internet presence back to life in an area that isn’t NSFW fanart.

      I don’t think Metallica’s posts are 20 years old yet…

EDIT: Guys, I know. It was a joke. /s or whatever.

      Over 1 million karma.

      Almost 8 posts per day.

It must be the team behind the series, like a full team of 4-5 people posting.

I dont even know what RWBY is. I dont even watch animes.

One shudders to imagine what hyperfixated thoughts lie behind that account.

What *dreams* of chronic and sustained RWBerY?

Same, and I just personally don’t like the show, so it’s pretty dang annoying for me XD

We hang out in the r/DankPrecolumbianMemes Discord server. He’s a funny cool smart guy.

    9. There’s definitely something more to that “guy” than just a diehard RWBY fan who’s really knowledgeable about a wide range of topics and has a lot of time on their hands

    10. Just want others to be able to see this:

So, to preface this I want to say that the basic story of RWBY’s creation is kind of important to understanding the reason people love it so much.

Basically, RoosterTeeth, the guys who made the Red V. Blue web series back in the early 00’s, started using CGI in their work and hired this guy named Monty Oum who did a lot of high quality action scenes and fights on youtube.

Homie was mad talented. After a few seasons of RvB, he asked to make his own anime adjacent show and got approved.

So Monty, a bunch of friends, no real budget, and a dream cooked up a whole ass show that gained a lot of notoriety.

And call me a democracy lovin, gun toting American but if that’s not the American Dream right there I don’t know what is!

So its got a special place in a lot of our hearts despite its glaring issues.

As for the story basically this is the jist:

The world of Remnant is filled with a bunch of souless monsters. Humans manifest their soul into Aura and each have their own personal superpower, ranging from insane strength or intellect to being able to turn themselves into a gust of rose petals or cause hallucinations.

As a result, the show’s combat feels very visceral and the original rule of the story followed the rule of cool under its original creator, Monty Oum.

The show’s 4 main girls are Ruby Rose (Red) Weiss Schnee (White) Blake Belladonna (Black) and Yang Xiao-Long (Yellow) and thusly form team RWBY, with the foremost and final girls being half-sisters.

Each of the main cast are derived from fairy tales, with Ruby being red riding hood, yang being goldilocks, blake being Belle from beauty and the beast, and Weiss being snow white- this motif sticks up for most of the main cast, with the other notable team, JNPR being genderbent fairytales ans mythological figures-

Jaune Arc (Joan of Arc), Phyrrha Nikos (achilles), Nora Valkyrie (Thor), and Lie Ren (Mulan).

Oh and blake has cat ears and has a racism plotline ill get to that…

The first 3 seasons are akin to a highschool/harry potter esq adventure where they learn to become Hunters/Huntresses and meet a colorful cast of characters as they try to make fhe world a better place while evil lurks around the corner.

The show is told in “volumes” and V1 is kinda just okay.

It centers around the team building aspect and introducing characters, and is servicable but flawed.

With that said, the fights, especially in the 4 trailers…

ARE AMAZING. They are exceptionally well done for 3D animation and give a lot of weight and gravitas to the action.

RWBY is a good show to crack open a 6 pack to and turn ya brain off.

Sadly there are some issues throughout the first 3 volumes- namely a lack of good exposition. Theres also a very poirly handled anti-racism allegory that was def written by my fellow white bois and is criticized for just not being s good allegory.

All that said first 3 volumes are really fun. The third has a massive tonal shift that really hits you in the gut.

But midway through creation of V3, Monty the OG creator sadly passed away. as a result the show tended to suffer.

V4 is mid, V5 is just awful due to budget mismanagement.

V6 is really good (imo), 7 is okay, 8 is kinda bad imo, and 9 is an acid trip.

Overall it doesn’t take long to watch and ifs fun to do so.

Like I said, for a lot of the fans who stuck around for a while its cool bc the show kinda came from nothing.

Its got issues but its just fun to watch.

Whats more, is that in the OG designs for the show, one of the core concepts was creating simple designs so cosplayers could easily and cheaply cosplay the characters. that kinda went by the wayside over time but it really helped get the show sticking around at larger cons.

      Oh and the soundtrack SLAPS.

TLDR: its a cool show with some issues. The soundtrack SLAPS.

heres the link to the first of the 4 trailers created by Monty himself, all 4 are worth a watch.
