To be fair, there is more to Japanese history than just that. And if that is all you talk about it sounds less like you are interested in history and more like you have an axe to grind.

Japans arrogant handling of its War crimes is a reason why I give a fuck about future Chinese military dominance in that region

“We need to defend ourself against the evil Chinese!”

it feels like the two koreas, china and maybe taiwan? are really the only ones with personal hatred with japan. The SEAblings seem to be chill towards japan nowadays.

like if you were to wave a rising sun flag in east asia except japan, you would probably be in danger but try that in southeast asia and no one will most likely care.

I know that people my age like the pop culture (kind of to some degree) but I remember going for the historical sites.

Japan defenders, hop off. This is one of the worst countries in world history.

    7. From first-hand experience traveling there, many Japanese women have become very comforting due to economic reasons…they don’t need to go abroad.

Japan, Britain and the US are spiritually the same in this regard for their history.

    9. North Korea treat their own citizens about as bad if not worse then during Japanese occupation

    10. Surprisingly Japan defenders have not flooded in the post yet

Given that their government just issued a warning to their male citizens not to engage in any underage prostitution in SEA, I begin to question if it’s really a cultural thing
