    1. They know better than to ask for money for that one, but you should talk to them about renting your shelf space for their unwanted stock

    2. I really hope you’re aware that IS Garth Brooks. If not, welcome to the bizarre Chris Gaines rabbit hole.

I once called in to a radio station back in the mid 80’s to win a prize

Didn’t hear what it was but I called anyways

They made me give all my information before they would say what the prize was

Turns out it was a Scott Baio album.

They said I had to show up at the station to get it. I never went.

A month later I got it in the mail!

Garth Brooks is such a confusing artist to me lol. I hadn’t heard much about him, I’ve heard Friends in Low Places but like everyone’s heard that song. Come to find out, he’s like the most successful musician of all time!? Like by a wide margin too. Literally every single one of his albums has gone platinum at minimum. He’s insanely wealthy, like to an absurd degree that barely makes sense. He also writes for a lot of pop musicians, Brittney Spears and Miley Cyrus both have #1 hits written by Garth Brooks. That’s the other crazy part, he’s been in the industry for a really fucking long time. He was also a studio musician who toured with some early metal bands before he got famous, which is just one of like a thousand crazy facts about the man. He’s also just kind of a weird guy interpersonally. Everyone likes him but says he’s kind of detached and doesn’t really fit in. He’s also sort of a musical prodigy and can play pretty much any instrument, similar to Flava Flav in that regard (apparently they are friends which is also fucking nuts). I went on a deep dive on Garth Brooks, as you can tell lol. I still don’t like his music, personal preference, but now I can see why people love him. His lyricism is also sort of underrated, his songs aren’t dumb and he’s a talented musician even if he’s not my preference. He’s also a fucking fascinating man who has lead an insane life.

Pretty sure this was intended to be a “soundtrack” for a movie that never got developed. Out of context, it seems a little unusual. But with that in mind, it makes a little more sense.

    7. I remember this ridiculousness but I guess it’s right. Even if it’s one album, still the greatest hits.

    8. The Behind The Music with Chris Gains was about as funny as Spinal Tap. Worth it

They have been waiting for that moment since they bought that. Finally finding someone to stick it to for all of eternity.

I was working at a record store when the Chris Gaines record came out. There was no prep work done. It just came out inexplicably. No one “got it”, nor got it.

I am not going to lie: I loved this when it came out. It was super catchy. I was very disappointed when the companion movie came to nothing. ‘The Lamb’, I think. I still have the CD.

I watched the VH1 ‘Behind the Music and when ‘Chris Gaines’ was the musical guest on SNL. For a while, Garth Brooks was king.

    12. I feel so bad for Garth that the movie this was made for never came to fruition. It made him seem like such a freak when it was never just a phase or rebranding attempt.
