I mean to say the boys fumbled their last season is to say they didn’t fumble the other seasons. Game of thrones was at least good for a solid 5 or 6 seasons

    2. It can be argued that The Boys have gone downhill since the season 3 finale. Everything was fine until that final S3 episode. Season 4 was a mess, and season 5 has been a disappointment, as well as just one big ad for the upcoming spinoff.

    3. I think we’re starting to see why Netflix just straight up cancels things. The Boys had the perfect ending all set up with the showdown. Carrying it on after that was bullshit anyway.

    4. I’m still enjoying the show. Yes the quality has declined, but it’s still entertaining af.

    5. They should have cut frenchie out seasons ago to make room for literally anything interesting

Nothing will ever be worse than the Umbrella Academy. By far the worst final season of any show I’ve ever watched

Was this whole last season JUST to set up the prequel show that I have no interest in watching?!

To be fair, the show went downhill long before this. That being said, this final season is a new low. At least GoT had pretty spectacle and epic set pieces.

I’m not a TV writer, so maybe my opinion on the matter isn’t terribly valuable, but I don’t think it should be this hard to stick the landing. You know there’s a particular ending your fanbase wants. Just give them that.

It’s bad, but it’s not that bad. Fire sure the ending season is a bit lackluster, but it’s still ok compared to the got fumble

    11. There was a time when I wouldn’t miss The Boys for the world but now I haven’t even started the final season. S4 just made me lose a lot of interest I had in the show.

Dude… I literally just started watching The Boys because it was wrapping up and everyone said it was *so good*…

      Don’t do this to me.

Stranger things, umbrella academy, teen titans, snowpiercer, walking dead… all went downhill

You could have predicted this after season 2 each season  got shittier and shittier and the writing was on the wall that the last would be the best worst

No idea how they are gonna stick the landing for The Boys but I’m keeping faith.

    16. This sub descends into this same shit every time a popular show ends.

I havent caught up on the boys yet, but if this is anything like stranger things itll turn out to be basically ok to watch.

    17. I think the hate feels a little bit over blown. I can understand why people are unhappy with the season, but people always try and compare their shows ending to something like Game of Thrones.

I agree that the current season is nothing like the peak of the show in season 1-3, it’s still not that bad. It feels a lot like the uproar around stranger things. I think you can be unhappy with the direction without overblowing it.

There are few shows that I think match the incompetence of Game of Thrones season 8. The boys definitely doesn’t fit that.

    18. The first season of The Boys was amazing. Season 2 felt like a shell of itself. Season 3 felt like an unfunny parody of itself. I stopped there.

Both shows fumbled more than just their last seasons. People were just clinging on with copium. Hoping/expecting it to get better.

    20. At least GOT gave us large moments, as dumb as they were. The Boys had more scale in the early seasons, wtf happened.
