Hey all! I'm back as I'm finally done with finals!!

Decided to only do 1 page of entries today because it was long and interesting enough to warrant it! Today, we see William go on his long-awaited date with Nan, have some insights about symphonies, go sightseeing with Bob, and much more!

Again, a picture of William is included at the end of the slideshow, a transcript is in the comments, and, for any new readers, anything in italics is me adding onto or commenting on William's writing

Thanks for all the support on this project!

      **Transcript:**

      **Saturday, August 5th (Clear)**

Up at 7:15. I decided not to eat any eggs this morning. A good idea, too. Though, I didn’t know it, we had none! Hah! *[lol!]*. Had my one cup of coffee :-). **Listened to news: All’s quiet on the eastern front**. Uncle Mason called from Tampa at 8:15. He thought I was D.D. *[Dearest Dad]*, and that I was joshing him when I said D.D. was at the bank.

Told D.D. of call when he came by. Decided I should eat lunch at Elk’s Club at 1:15, and he would take the car on over to Tampa and pick up Uncle Mason, getting back around 6 PM. Had car serviced at CTM. Something was mentioned about Orlando, but I shrugged it off. Picked up laundry at Launderette.

Finished mowing yard, swept most of it. [Cot Campbell](https://www.shellhouseriversfuneralhome.com/obituaries/cothran-cot-campbell) called. I told him Hank Schulte could check with me Monday morning about scores of Sunday matches. I’ll get all I can. After Jeanne at 12:150. Everyone sort of flustered because Jeanne had to get groceries, and D.D. was going to run off in car. Jeanne ate here. We went uptown. I ate at E.C. *[Elk’s Club]* and she shopped. Mr. Schock ate with us.

Jeanne came to E.C. D.D. irked anyway about having to go after Mason, gave us taxi fare. We picked up groceries at Publix and went home. Listened to symphonic music most of afternoon, interrupted by a horse race at Saratoga, Pete winning over Sunbaron. Heard [William Tell Overture](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIbYCOiETx0), one of my favorites, and [Brahm’s Concerto #2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VghJWGQ2IU0), a long piece. This kind of music strikes deep in me; always gets me thinking, speculating, wondering. **Great symphonic musics always seems to set part of me aloft from everything, fills me with soaring dreams of what possibilities life could hold for man and for me if it is just faced with a generous heart and clear mind and a deep insight into what it is all about** *[Interesting!]***.**

U.M. *[Uncle Mason]* and D.D. arrived at 6:15. Uncle Mason, formerly attached with a chemical firm in Cambridge, Mass in personnel, suffered a heart attack a year ago, and is down here looking over Ft. Myers’ as a tentative retirement site.

Dang it’s sad to hear about the mining operation causing the ancient hot springs to dry up
