      From top left:

      *back row:*

-**Wincenty Witos** (Polish Peasants’ Party leader, prime minister during the 1920 Battle of Warsaw)

-**Symon Petliura** (Ataman of the Ukrainian People’s Republic, Poland’s ally during the 2nd phase of the Polish-Bolshevik war)

-**Józef Haller** (Leader of the “Blue Army”, which fought on the side of the Entente during ww1, and, together with the Legions, formed the backbone of the reborn Polish Army)

-**Władysław Sikorski** (A Legionnaire commander and one of the most skilled generals in the Polish army, played an important role in the Battle of Warsaw. His unit’s perserverance was crucial to Polish victory)

      *the middle:*

-**Ignacy Jan Paderewski** (A renowned pianist, American and Polish celebrity, skilled diplomat and the prime minister in the 1st phase of the Polish-Bolshevik war. Used his connections in the White House to lobby for the Polish cause and ensure that Poland’s independence would be included in Wilson’s 14 Points)

-**Edward Rydz-Śmigły** (A Legionnaire officer loyal to Piłsudski, and one of the most skilled field commanders in the Polish-Bolshevik war. He was responsible for the Polish-Ukrainian victory in the battle of Kyiv)

-**Ignacy Daszyński** (Galician socialist politician, advocate for Polish independence through revolutionary means, and a staunch defender of democracy and progressive values. He was briefly the first prime minister of Polish People’s Republic [not to be confused with the post-ww2 soviet-communist Polish People’s Commonwealth] in the so-called “Lublin Government”)

      *bottom:*

-**Tadeusz Rozwadowski** (One of the most skilled and innovative commanders of the k.u.k army during ww1, he later joined the reborn Polish army and organised the defense of Lviv during the Polish-Western Ukrainian war, during which he made great efforts to protect Jews and Orthodox Christians from nationalist pogroms. In the Battle of Warsaw, he was co-responsible for devising the Wieprz counterattack plan, which turned the tide of the war and routed Mikhail Tukhachevsky’s armies)

-**Józef Piłsudski** (Socialist patriotic revolutionary, commander of the Polish Legions, First Marshal of Poland and the Supreme Chief of Poland and Commander in Chief of the Polish forces during the innitial years of Polish independence. As the main proponent of the Intermarium federal concept, and a staunch anti-nationalist, he believed that only united can the post-russian states stand up to the Whites, the Reds and the Germans alike. He was the architect of the Polish-Ukrainian alliance and the Kyiv Expedition, and oversaw the victory at Warsaw – likely being a co-author of the Wieprz counteoffensive. During the battle, he personally commanded the successful counterattack, which completely destroyed the northern front of the Red Army. He was also likely the most russophobic man to have ever walked the earth lol)

Suffice it to mention that even the Polish Socialist Party supported Poland’s war with Bolshevik Russia, and there are voices that they were fascists.
