Air-to-air missiles are not cruise missiles. Cruise missiles are made to hit targets on the surface and are long range, hence the word “cruise”. Air-to-air (Or any to air) missiles are much shorter range, typically fly faster, and have much more dynamic maneuvering so that they can hit a target in the air.
