it’s bad enough trying to deal with people refusing reality but it’s all the more insulting when the reality you’re trying to prove to them is the most basic level of information to understand.

It’s just cult mentality. You can’t penetrate into a cult member’s mind because they have both natural defenses and a shitload of excuses/plausible deniability from their leadership. The issue is that people have a natural urge to defend their worldview even if it’s wrong. This instinct is hijacked by the cult leader who creates friction between the indoctrinated and the outside world. What we see as Trump being a hypocrite or openly lying is actually part of the trick. You want to create cognitive dissonance between what your cult members are hearing and the actual facts of the world. Eventually after they have had to defend you so many times after so many actions they will just do it instinctually whether it makes sense or not. The trick is isolation and indoctrination and you can just flagrantly do it in public, that actually helps rather than hurts. Now you aren’t “wrong” your the only pillar of truth they have left because you have embattled them against all their peers and support groups. You can’t reach them, even long and intensive therapy sessions with trained experts rarely get through to cult members. I mean for fucks sake, the people who survived Heaven’s Gate are still active members of the cult that believe in the teachings of Do and Ti despite like 90% of the members fucking killing themselves. There’s no getting through to these people, they are too far gone. People think Trump is an idiot but people said that about L. Ron Hubbard and Jim Jones too, you don’t have to be a genius to be a cult leader. You just need a sociopathic urge for power and an understanding of how to turn people against each other, it helps to have an eye for vulnerable people you can bring into the inner circle as “true believers” (see, Trump’s entire cabinet).

Based on recent events I’ve started experimenting whether I can make my own AI generated blonde ultra-MAGA to sell online.
Before 2024 I would have said that is immoral, but since then it has become painfully obvious that MAGA has lost even the small amount of brains that it takes to be self-interested about their money. At this point it’s not IF they’ll lose it to a conman, it’s WHEN.
And once it comes down to whether I or some East Coast Elitist real-estate developer gets their paycheck for some feelz, well at least I’d recirculate it to keep the economy going.

Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.

They’re a cult. I’m not being mean when I say that, it’s the truth.
They continually move the goalposts for their leader. Look at where they are now; crime is ok, rape is ok, pedophilia is ok, trying to OVERTHROW THE GOVERMENT IS OK.
Just wait until he pardons Ghislaine (and it’s gonna happen), they’ll argue that she and Epstein were just misunderstood and that the girls were leading them on.

They will continually just say you can’t possibly know what’s real or not anymore to support their view of whatever they are thinking could be correct and to discredit anything you say. I’m not suicidal but holy shit I genuinely wanted to *** myself after getting into a face to face argument with a conservative on abortion rights. The experience put me off on trying to debate or convince them of anything ever since. There’s , quite literally, nothing you can do to convince or even appeal to them. They even cede ground in their own family if it means that they’re view is right (I posited a scenario involving their family members, and they said it wouldn’t happen, like zero engagement with the hypothetical).
What I learned from the argument.
– You won’t/don’t get to explain your point of view clearly, they will interrupt.
– They will ignore everything you said just, sometimes even going off on unrelated topics, like we were arguing about abortion and he dead ass brought up socialism, SJW’s, and Black Lives Matter.
– They will bring up fake shit to justify their views
– They’re always right.
– You’re a demon murderer for even suggesting there’s nuance on a topic.
– The narrative matters more than the truth. If the sky is blue, but the party narrative (from Trump or Fox News specifically) is that the sky is green… the sky is green for the conversation.
– If you’re not strong enough, you will develop hatred after talking to them. Like I genuinely used to be more empathetic to MAGA before that conversation. The sentiment was building up over years, but that one conversation was enough to get me into “holy shit, I don’t care if they suffer anymore” territory.
