3 Turkish-Cypriot Children killed by EOKA-B in a bathtub where their mother hide them before getting killed during a raid to their house. The internal chaos in Cyprus after independence was brutal for all sides involved. EOKA, which had started as an independence movement under British rule, took a different path after freedom. They were annoyed by the equal rights Turkish-Cypriot community got as a result of Treaty of London. Enosis (plan to annex Cyprus into Kingdom of Greece) could never be achieved without getting rid of this constitutional obstacle. As the minority part Turkish-Cypriots got 30% seat rights at the parliament and couldn't be president. And this was the main problem in the path of Annexation. Attacks began on Turkish-Cypriot enclaves which then followed by responses to Greek ones. Chaotic street fighting and massacres ensued in the Jewel of the Mediterranean for a decade until coup d'etat of 1974 by EOKA-B..

Everyone blames Turkey for invasion but if Turkey didn’t step in, the Greek militias would leave no turks alive on the island. I dont support Turkey turning the island to the land of mafias, sex trafficking and gambling but the invasion was justifiable
