You paid good money for that leather sewing machine and you’re gonna use it.

The viking show was equally stupid.

Art is not history. You think Caravaggio is historically accurate?

As a fantasy writer I personally dress all my male characters in leather trousers because hose and breeches don’t sit right with me, aesthetically speaking.

To be fair that’s Arthur so it’s not historical in the premise and they never pretended to be a historical movie…

I don’t mind inaccuracies in *medieval* fantasy, I just wish the medieval part was actually there.

Using a Guy Ritchie movie as an example of Hollywood claiming to be accurate is a choice, I guess. Guy just tells the story he wants told, accuracy isn’t his aim

I especially like the large epic battles where the main tactic is to run at each other in a disorganized melee and just start slashing at everything around you.

History nerds are the most insufferable people to watch a movie with sometimes. Imagine watching Interstellar with Niel Degrass Tyson, and every other minute he pauses it to explain why something is right or wrong.

I am once again recommending the movie OUTLAW KING (2017) for a medieval war movie that has good costuming and does not suck
Everyone wants to make a medieval war movie, but so many of them are just… ass. The costuming makes such a huge difference.

also hoods that are not a separate piece of clothing and cloaks that are open and billowy so they don’t actually block any wind or provide insulation.

I just want more medieval shows. They seem so few. I’m willing to let some cheesy costumes slide.

Actually I like it when historical movies are “visibly” inaccurate. Better than historical movies that are subtle inaccurate and people take them for realistic. So make the English queen black and give them modern outfits so its on the nose that its a fantasy.
