What if I’m vomiting in the bathroom after ordering a hamburger
MrRightHanded on
I dont know about you, but I probably dont want to eat at a place where vomiting is common enough to warrant a sign like this
DiarrheaMonkey1 on
Well, I actually wanted a chicken sandwich, but I really got pee…
shadowtheimpure on
I’d wager they get a ***lot*** of very drunk people in the door.
whiterice336 on
Presumably it’s a late night burger shop people go to after the bar
AppleXrz on
That sign feels way too specific for it to be a rare problem

20k yen’s about $130 USD.
Best not to chance it.

First half I understand, it’s just the standard restrooms are for customers only.
(And keeps those form just ordering “Water” from using restroom)
$128 Fine for vomiting?
I’m guessing this is near a club / bar district?
APuticulahInduhvidul on
McDonalds should adopt the vomit fine, they would make billions just on the fillet-o-fish.
Alright_doityourway on
There must be some kind of history, drunk kind
ToreadorableX on
Yeah, I imagine people trying to use the restroom without ordering food happens pretty regularly.

I’m pretty sure this sign happened for a horrific reason.
Spooknik on
I’m guessing it’s mostly aimed at drunk people.

Vomiting is normally just the price of a proper burger

I had a friend who worked in a burger place that was opened till 3am on the weekends. They catered to the crowd that came in after the bars closed at 2am. Finding vomit in the restrooms was not a rare occurance.

20k Yen is = 108 Euro/127 USD/174 CAD
Hmmm… maybe not really worth it.

Japan has a lot of American themed hamburger restaurants that sell huge burgers that I wonder how the average Japanese person can eat in one go.
So I could understand if someone vomited if they ate too much, but I’ve never actually witness it
It’s not unusual for two people to split a burger.

$200 for vomiting? Yeesh.

Should crosspost to that signs with a history sub

To get sober, many people eat greasy food. I think many drunk people end up there, and that may be the cost of “business”. Buy a drink so the remains are “familiar”.
YourMumsBumAlum on
In Japan, absolutely. People drink a lot fast after work
eighty82 on
If you clean up after yourself like a respectable human being, they’ll never even know you vomited. Puke all over the place like a drunk moron and leave a mess for them and you get a fine
Honest_Mortgage_6759 on
Either they’re making food that makes people throw up or whoever is serving drinks doesn’t keep track of how many are served. I don’t know how serving alcohol is in Japan, but in America the server can get in a lot of legal trouble for giving people alcohol poisoning, or serving alcohol to someone who is visibly intoxicated.
Either way a posted fine for getting sick at any establishment sounds like a red flag to me. All this says is people throw up here frequently.
atom644 on
Got it. Vomit on the sidewalk.

Interesting signs.
2 signs covers one sentence. That’s cool.

I lived in Japan for half a year and I visit often. I’m American, and I tell you guys rn. 90% of the restaurants in Japan that serve hamburgers have the worst burgers I’ve ever eaten. They didn’t make me wanna puke but holy shit they were doing something wrong back in the kitchen. There are good ones tho you just gotta look for them
PM_THE_REAPER on
How terrible are your burgers?

I almost puked at an All You Can Eat sushi restaurant last month lol

Their burgers 🍔 make people vomit that often that they had to make a sign?

“You didn’t order a hamburger! That’s a fine!”
“I did! I even have my receipt!”
“No you ordered a cheeseburger! Only hamburger eaters are allowed in the restroom!”

I’ll not go to this shop.

I read it too fast and thought it said “Only people who use the bathroom may order a hamburger”

I have been in Tokyo (near Shinjuku station) on a Friday night during happy hour. I’ve seen some people stumbling pretty early in the evening, so I’d imagine that it happens enough for them to warrant putting up the sign 🤣
mudokin on
Plot twist, they don’t have Hamburgers on the menu.
FriendlyNeighburrito on
you guys dont get it.
You go in, you buy a hamburger, 2000 yen, or whatever lol, then you ask to use the bathroom
now that you have the divine forbidden access to the bathroom, you throw up the hamburger to STICK IT TO THE MAN
and they found that out, hence the fine
ux3l on
What if I had to vomit because of their burger?

Probably found the perfect situation where drunk people constantly wandered in asking for a bathroom a saw it as an opertunity to make both a food sale and a cleaning fee

I’d be willing to bet you can see Godzilla from the entrance to this burger place, right? If that’s where you are, you already know why this sign is there lol

It’s a double profit for them if the hamburger makes you vomit
